Allowed access to any knowledge ina easy to find manner and is easy to make a character sheet and the such only thing we have to say is we need an update for the new spell hammer book.
This app has everything we could have asked for and more! The only suggestion we could possibly make is to add a dark mode, if you added that it would be perfect!
Its an understandable mechanic and doesnt leave you scrambling to figure everything out. You just need to find a class and continue on.
So we wanted to work on our Derro encounter on the fly, this is the ONLY app besides the official with that information! Super excited!
We really like the design of the app. Its design allows for easy access to races, classes, and monsters. It also allows for fairly easy adding of homebrew or recently released content. The only thing we wish it had was a way to add your own weapons, not just using another weapon type to make something. All in all, a great app that is easy to use for beginners and experts alike.
The only things that can be said against it are theres no fast and easy way to share the character sheet with others,as it tends to be wonky about it. And that there seems to be an issue with armor class calculating,as it sets ac lower than the armor/unarmored defense says it should be. Ex:Armor is 12+dex,ded is +5,says ac is is instead of 17.
We’ve used this app for a long while now and have run several games with this app as a supplementary tool but Im getting super tired of the bugs. Most of us can just build characters by hand and theres other apps that do the same job. Having said that, for the love of god, PLEASE fix your fighter class. We cant get it to take any other sub class other than archery. On top of that, in the character basics section, if you type in what level you want your character to be, then hit max health, itll reset the fighting style to archery and the level back to none. Super frustrating.
We have this app on multiple platforms and recommend it to everyone we have played D&D with. It centralizes Race, Class, and Background information so you dont have to search through modules and books. Its the best character creator we have found on the App Store for sure. All that being said, we currently have the android version on our phone and obviously the apple App Store version on our iPad, and have noticed that updates on the Android version havent been made to the Apple version yet which has complicated our character creations on our iPad. We really appreciate the app and appreciate the developer(s) who put so much time and effort into creating and maintaining it. We really hope the updates that are on the Android app make it to this one soon. We love being able to touch a skill and it automatically rolls a D20 with the mod applied.
We really love using this app,but the fact it hasnt been updated in half a year makes us very sad. The new content in the latest updates changes the races quite a bit and not knowing there changes will be an issue for us and other players using this app to make characters for campaigns.
Please add sorting inventory/equipment, other than that its really good.
Amazing app with all the essentials! Id love however for the spells section to have its own little bubble in the main menu for easier access!
So first this is good love it realy good dm tool and all that but a few problems first there is no item sections we can find you cant homebrew one no nothing like that maby we need to pay for that but we dont know also second we also dont know how to pay for stuff seriously cant figure it out at all we dont get it.
We really like this app, the only thing we would want is the ability to change the colors some, maybe a dark mode for the app but besides that we really enjoy using it.
It definitely helps keep track of things and is fantastic for new players. We dont like that it is so easy to accidentally close out the window when youre editing, thus causing you to lose what you just worked on. We also have been having an issue when trying to homebrew spells. That specific section does not work for us as it does not allow us to save. Other than that, we dont have complaints. But we havent explored the entire app.
Im digging this app to store our monsters and get the turn order set. We did discover a bug today though: When adding a home brew monster to the library, after saving and search for it, each attempt to click on it completely freezes the app. Its the first time its happened, so we dont know what we’ve done different with this creature to cause the freeze. It looks like the app is stuck thinking, as the search bar indicator is still flashing once clicking on the creature. No other indication is given that anything happens, and you cannot navigate the app any longer. We have to force close it to open again.
Amazing app! We love all the content in the app and the ability to make character sheets with so much content from all the Dnd books. One thing is as a DM we would love to make our own custom monsters in the app but whenever we try to open a monster that we make. The app crashes. Also when in battle and we click on the monster to see their stats and actions it comes up as blank. Amazing app with a few glitches that we hope will get worked out soon!
1-Pact Spell Slot: Your app lumps all spells together. 2-Short Rest: There is no option for short rest which explains why you probably dont have pact tactics for spells. A lot of classes get things back on a short rest. (Says short rest in features but is not found on the app) 3-Show spells known for the classes which is different from spell slots. Complement: There is a lot of good for the price a one time purchase of 3 dollars great deal. Honestly Id pay 5 if youd just fix the3 things above. Especially since these are standard mechanics for the game.
This app is great but there is a problem in character creation where you can not put negative values for attributes, for example we were creating a character and we had rolled under 10 total for an attribute but was unable to input a negative value for said attribute, this would not be a problem if you threw out or added more functionality to apples default keypad input which does not offer a – key in the app.
When we put a race that has spells and try to edit out the spells, it dosnt edit them out which we finish editing the race.
App works great just need support for the most current books(strix and dragon)for background and feats.
We love this App! It has all the things we need to handle our character for our D&D night. We just wished it was updated with Fizbans Treasury of Dragons and new books in the future faster. Otherwise great!
Listen. This app gives you many options and many ways to improve your campaigns. But there are some issues. One in particular is when you create a new creature and go back into the bestiary to look at it, and your screen freezes. We dont know if anybody else has had this problem but we have. Every time we try to access the creature we created, it freezes our screen and we have to reopen the app. This app is great, but fixes need to be made. Thank you and good luck.
This is a fantastic app! It has everything one would need to play D&D. Our only complaint is that on iOS its still in the beta. We would love more updates. Id also appreciate a dark mode as the light mode is a bit hard on our eyes.
This app is great, but its otherwise just missing certain vanilla content, namely, the entire Fighter class.
So we love this, its by far the best free dnd app that does this, but there are a few problems. 1) we would love to be able to differentiate between homebrew that is in the app automatically and actual official stuff, its a bit annoying. 2) we would love to see features of classes and uses of it and what it does, we dont want to have to go to the entire class/subclass to figure out what it does, we would love if it was all on your character sheet. And finally. 3) multiclassing, we cant start with a multiclassed character, so we have to level up, which is fine, but every level is another ad, they add up.
It wont show the Vulnerabilities for creatures.
Its a genuinely great free tool, especially as a dm! However while creating one of our characters we saw that the app would close itself if we tried to change the skill in skills & equipment, and now Im permanently at arcana. Other than that its great! Maybe a list of the characters special abilities in a place where you dont have to press certain things to see it would be cool!
So far Im loving it. Glad you have access to way more classes and races than similar apps. Only thing this app needs is to fix the little glitches with equipment and skill proficiencies.
Where is the Dice Roll found in the center in the menu? Android has the dice roll options, but Apple doesso wheres this feature? Is there something Im missing here?
The only problem is that the new books are not added to this app, other than that everything is awesome.
This is a great app for spit bowling ideas of characters both as NPCs, villains, player characters. We can even see where its gonna be handy for creating events. We would like to see this app be updated in small user experience ways. For instance leveling up a character. When playing a campaign and using this app as a companion to keep track of information its great especially when it comes to experience game. Sadly not all GMs use experience game and prefer to go the route of event level ups. It would be great if in the settings we were able to switch the style experience for leveling up. This will make it a lot easier for games that use in event-based level up and anyone that wants to experiment with a character to see where they want to go with it. With the current set up its a little clunky. It works well enough but isnt as fun and fluid as it could be. All Im suggesting is some UI and settings options to be added if they arent already. Great app overall and would definitely recommend.
This app is honestly really great! Its got anything you need to create a character, (sub)classes or just about anything dealing with character creation. Its combat and party system is fine, but we wouldnt use it. Just a bit too unnecessary in our opinion. Our biggest gripe is that they havent updated the app for iOS in 6 months and we really dont know when they will next. Anything released even semi-recently isnt in the app while Android has all the content plus more. Besides those things we would highly recommend! We use this all the time for idea testing and creation and you might enjoy it too.
So Id say this is a great app but just by editing our character it seems like Im loosing stuff that we didnt even interact with. Right now what we’ve notice is languages the most. For example Im playing a faun or satyr Druid. So we know Druidic common and sylvan. Then looking at backgrounds the one we liked the most was Ticklebelly nomad so now we know giant. But after messing around with spells or anything else we go back to the info we noticed we were missing a few went to mess around some more to double check until we only had giant left. We have tried it a couple of times and we have a few screen shots Im willing to show to show what we mean. We dont even really care to know giant speech but we do care for the others though we dont want our dm to think Im trying to cheat them when its says one thing one minute and then another after we change a spell or if we level up.

Decent app but recently it has deleted all our character info and our equipment we’ve stored up and kept up with for no reason!!!!!
Among many things comparing this to the android version it feels very watered down as many features are missing like the dice roller and finding other characters threw links.
We want to love this app but it doesnt work properly their is bugs on the encounters connecting monsters into encounters trying to resume your combat and pulling up the monsters stats and abilities doesnt work. We know that most of these problems have all been fixed for Android play store users. Please extend us the same courtesy and update the app and we will give you the 5 stars that we know you deserve if this was the complete edition. Android users are running version 4.3.2 and you got us on apple with version 0.8.
Love the app, the UI is wonderfully designed, and it doesnt glitch for us. However, we are getting a bit chuffed by the homebrew weapons: one of ours has the finesse written FIVE TIMES IN A ROW and its interfering with the at-a-glance damage checking. Is there a fix?
Really like this app but didn’t know how many features where missing from the IOS version until we switched from an Android phone to an iPhone. Most wanted feature for us personally is Dark Mode. Can’t wait for it to catch up to Android version!!
As we said, this is a great app! However, when we try to share the character sheet on iPad the app crashes. It seems to work fine on the iPhone.
We’re a DM and we use this app to track a ton of things. Basically everything works great, with one rather large problem: the bestiary, being the best we’ve seen in any app as it has content from all the expansions and is easily searchable, has a massive flaw that unfortunately renders it useless: it only shows what damage types a creature is immune to– but not the ones it’s resistant too. This is a major problem as tonnnnss of creatures have resistances, and not being able to see that renders the otherwise wonderful beastiary unfortunately unusable. Other than that, the app is excellent!
It is a great app but there are a few things to fix. Our main complaint is UA is not marked at that confuses a lot of our players when we dont allow it in our game. In games were we do allow it, this app soars above every other app (Including the still in development dndbeyond app in our opinion). In short, we love the app but wish the source books were marked.
Whenever you try to share a character sheet it sends a link to the source code of this apple page about the app. Please fix this its really hard to help new people out with their character sheet when they cant just send it to us without taking screenshots.
All the other reviews cover the positives of this app very well. However we do want to mention a bug that we’ve found and have not seen any other reviews reference it. Any time we try to share a character sheet via the share icon in the top right corner, the app crashes 100% of the time. This happens on both our iPad Pro and our iPhone. Please look into this and see what can be done about it.
We’ve really liked this app very easy to navigate and create a character. Getting ready to start a homebrew campaign and had all our players download it. We often refer to this app as the poor guys D&D beyond. The only thing we wish was on here is the ability to select equipment into the inventory instead of having to type it in, other than that its near perfect.
Great tool, but you cant filter spells by both class and school.
Specifically, with proficiency bonuses and searching for spells. Occasionally, we notice that when we make a new character, any proficiency bonuses arent transferred into the actual sheet, despite us choosing our proficiencies and what not. For spells, you can search them by class, but not by school, or the app crashes immediately. Thank you!
We want to start by saying this app is fantastic! It has pretty much we all we need, the app just has some glitches. Such as, whenever we finish a character and give them proficiencies in a ability (such as insight or stealth) from a background and we click on the background to look at what proficiencies it gives us itll take them away and we have to give myself the proficiency bonus again. Also every time we level up itll go down the list of what new abilities we get which is good, but it goes down by level. So say Im a level 10 fighter, itll show what new feat we get and whatnot but then itll also tell us everything we already know we have again like extra attack, superiority die, etc. Other than that we wish there was some more items in the armor category like all the magical armor. And for some reason the app says a Maul does 1d6 damage when it actually does 2d6 same with the greatsword. If you ever update the app again and fix all this Ill be very grateful! Keep up the great work because your app is amazing and the best character sheet app out there because we can basically do whatever we want with it and it helps a lot!
This app works well. It’s fairly user friendly. It helps guide you in making characters. We have made 3 characters so far and plan to continue to use it for more later. Most of the time it enters the info. They have all the races even done ones that Homebrew ones. 1. You can’t remove spells, weapons, or armor once they have been added to a character. You can add custom spells though. 2. Languages and some other abilities of your character is under information instead on your character. 3. Channel Divinity abilities aren’t on your sheet but under the info bottom. If they have a place for feats, than they should have a place for character’s abilities. Our husband is a DM and uses the whole app for monsters, beasts, spells, looking up races /class info quickly. He says it’s the best app out there for creating characters and he does his research for everything. We have even researched them too, and found this one we like the best as well! During campaigns we will use the app for fimialiars’ states while fighting. There is a notes spot which helps. Leveling up is fairly easy. You can add custom weapons, spells, armor, or things to your equipment.
Newer spells, sub class options, ENTIRE RACES AND CLASSES. But seriously, fix it please.
