The rules of the game are simple: there are 12 dice, and you must make words that connect like in a crossword. You will always get at least 2 vowels and at most 3. To win, you simply have to use all the letters. No proper nouns are allowed, and words must be longer than 2 letters. The game is called Q-Less because there is no Q in the dice.

We love the physical game. The app is a nice facsimile of it. We like that you can re-solve, as our wife and we play this during our dates. Perhaps a function to share a roll with others for them to solve as well would be a nice feature that the physical game couldn’t replicate. The Dice don’t always stay in the grid when moved over from the bottom of the screen. A fix for that would be good. Otherwise the app is running quite smooth!
Congrats on a near perfect game. We also impress myself on what we can complete when it feels so impossible at the start.
And, with increased play its so much fun. We play several times a day along with Wordle!!
Q-less is a great idea and the app interface is smooth for an initial release. Only issue is we’ve rolled five times and only once has it felt remotely solvable. Im consistently getting two vowels and a ton of hard letters (Z, X, V, J, etc.). With three vowels and those letters we could make it work but with only one roll per day they need to make sure the one daily roll you get is solvable if they want to keep people playing long enough on the free version to convert to a paid account. Plus, all the examples on the website and app page show three vowels instead of two per roll. Please fix!!!
App freezes up our iPad every time we try to use it. Im deleting it.
The app wont even load for us and when it does, it tells us we can only play the game once a day unless we pay $6 for unlimited plays. The $6 isnt an issue for us, but we dont even know if we like the game, because as we stated, the app wont even load for us. Unfortunate.
Every time we press the play button, it just shows a blank screen. Then we exited out of the app and went back into it, and it told us our free play was up! Forced us to buy the unlimited version. We have the actual Q-less dice game and was super excited to try the digital version out, but we are extremely disappointed.
Loading screen with instructions works just fine but will not open. If we try and close out it says we have used our turn for the day.
We have loved playing the physical game since we discovered it a year ago! We have multiple copies and usually keep one in our bag for moments of free time throughout the day. We just heard about the app and downloaded it immediately. Right away, we were impressed with how functional the app was. It has a very intuitive design, smooth operation, and gives the same energy and enjoyment of the physical version. At the best part? We can play while holding our napping baby and the dice roll doesnt startle her (which was our one problem with the original). Great job, Tom!
Please include a timer in this game. No offense but the cartoon of tom everytime you open thr app is annoying. Its unnecessary.

We downloaded this after seeing on TikTok. The game is designed so well. Im not as good as Tom but still fun!

This old kook wants $6 for this game.
Can’t tell you how many times we’ve gotten zero or one vowel. So we re-roll and it happens again and again. With 12 letters and only 1 vowel, it takes all the fun out. There are much better word games out there. Try Boggle.
We have not been able to actually use this app to play in weeks. Ill go days without opening the app and when we try to play the game, it opens to a screen asking if we want to resume and old game or play a new one. We click new, and it says we can only play for free once every 24 hours and asks us to pay $5.99 for unlimited play. We havent played in days so what is happening? We force close the app every time this happens, and we’ve updated the app as well. Seems like a permanent bug that theyre not fixing to try and get people to pay money for out of frustration. Ill just delete the app.
We bought the full version several weeks ago and frankly we can not stand this game. It boring and unfulfilling, not to mention a complete waste of time. The app does run well.
We want to give this five stars, because we love playing the dice game at home, but theres a fundamental flaw with the free version of the app: if you cant solve the puzzle, essentially the app is useless, because it wont allow you to reroll for a new game. It would be great if after 24 hours you could get a new roll.
Recently when trying to start a new game, the app will immediately tell us we can’t play unlimited games. And also, if you leave the app and it happens to restart on its own, your game for the day will be lost. We think these need fixing.
Love the game itself. The app has some bugs that could be better. If we leave the app, sometimes the app will reset and not allow us to finish our puzzle for the day. The second bug we’ve noticed is that if we did not finish a puzzle, then the next day when we come to the app, the new game button does not work instead of playing a new game, the screen pops up saying that we’ve already played our daily game and will have to purchase the full version.

This solitaire crossword dice game is fun and helps our mental acuity.
Love the game. Bought it after seeing Tom on TikTok. But there’s a couple things holding it back from being as good as it could be. 1. The drag and drop controls need work. Too many times the letters return to the rack upon dropping. Same with drags within the rack. Look at games like words with friends and you’ll see that drag/drop always works and feels intuitive. Tuning the drop zones should help a lot here. This is a tiny frustration that you simply won’t see in more professional games. 2. The game reloads way too often when returning from other apps. It should be optimized to return to the game not the main menu screen as quickly as possible. Too often we want to just swipe back to the game only for it to have been seemingly flushed from memory. It reloads and requires us to resume. Another tiny frustration that gets in the way of casually playing it throughout the day. We’re on an iPhone 14 pro, so memory shouldn’t be an issue here.
We wish we could close the app and return to the puzzle we were working on without having to pay. Im perfectly okay with the once a day limit (huge Wordle enthusiast) we just dont get why we cant play our one roll a day after we close the app.
We shouldnt have to pay to be able to resume an unfinished game. Work out kinks like this before releasing it to the public.
It started out okay, though disappointed that after dropping $18 on the actual game, the designer wanted another $6 for the app. No worries, we can deal with just one game a day. But then it stopped allowing us even that! This morning we started our game, but had to get up and go to the front door. An hour later, opened the app to resume our game, and it told us we can only play once a day. So we guess we had our chance, but if you dont finish in one sitting, tough luck- youre done for the day! It makes no sense, because there have been days where we open the app and havent finished from the previous day. In that scenario, it asks if we want to resume our game or start a new game. So we know it has the ability to resume, but we guess only if its a different day. For the free game, dont waste your time. For the in-app purchase, dont waste your money. Deleted the app.
This game is so fun to play! It is challenging and makes us think. Its our favorite time of day when we get to play Q-Less. Glad we discovered this cool game and then app through tiktok!! Tom, you are awesome!
We downloaded this game after seeing a few of the inventors TikToks. We knew the game would be fun, but we were honestly blown away by the quality of this app. It runs completely smoothly, and everything from the dice-rolling animation to the sounds that accompany each dice placement are pleasing and even beautiful. We also love the personal touches that Tom put in, recording his voice for an introduction and even using it as an accessible way to listen to the instructions. The game is also FUN! We havent paid the $5.99 for the unlimited version yet but we still have fun solving a new puzzle everyday, and you can try to solve your first roll as many times as you want. Not only that, but the free version appears to be completely ad-free, which is certainly a novelty for free-to-play puzzle games. It all seems to have been designed with great care, and we really appreciate this awesome and entertaining experience. Thank you, Tom!
It is an amazing crossword puzzle game. Highly recommended to everyone. We play it everyday and loves it.
The most egregious and important issue is that you cannot continue a game that you took a break from the same day without PAYING MONEY. Without paying; you are allowed to play once a day, fair enough, just like wordle and many other games. The problem is if you stop your game for any reason and decide to come back to it later that day it forces you to pay to continue playing the game you didnt even finish. But the next day it will ask if you want to continue your game you barely played yesterday or start a new game. Terrible. If we play for 5 minutes and want to continue it later it is crazy that we cant even play one single game to completion without paying.
This is a fun game to play but if we dont solve it in one sitting and want to go back we have to pay for unlimited play. We should be able to go back and finish the game later in the day. It should be unlimited with the same letters each day and if you pay for unlimited then you get unlimited combinations rolls every day.
We’ve always loved the concept of this game, and we love that theres an app now. The game is very fun, intellectually challenging, and a different game every time. The app runs very well, and Im so glad we have this game now!
Bought the physical game a year ago and have been obsessed with Q-Less since! Big fan of Toms on tiktok. When we saw the app we were so excited, perfect for on the go play. Great job Tom and team!!
We found Q-less via social media but living in Italy we cant yet order the real life version. Needless to say we were incredibly excited when Tom announced that they had made an app as well. We love this game but what we love about using the app is it is linked to the scrabble dictionary and allows us to grow our vocabulary testing words we believe may exist but we are also not completely certain. We purchased the app so we could do more rolls every day and we are so glad that we did. We find it is a nice way for us to take a break from work that is more productive and stimulating compared to scrolling on social media. We highly recommend.

Such a fun game! We would like to see a wider range of stats (longest word used, most used word, etc.) also would love like a count down of possible words left? When we get stuck i’d like to know if their is a word available to complete the puzzle or if we need to reroll.
We’ve been playing the full version for over a week now and really enjoyed the gameplay. A few times however we’ve obviously won, but the game states that there is a 2 letter word. We would like to see our problem resolved. Thank you.

This fun game worked great for one week with us being able to play one round for free once a day & after a week of play once a day, we dont get one free round a day anymore. The app thinks we’ve played that day when we havent. Very disappointing.
This game is so much fun and we love that there is an app for it! We just wish that the tiles (letters) moved around more seamlessly. The movement is a bit glitchy sometimes. Overall, great game.

We own two physical copies of Q-less and have gifted another 10 or so copies to friends and family. We all love it. We didnt hesitate to download the mobile app or pay for the added features. Tom never disappoints. The user interface is smooth and easy to figure out. Added features like screenshots of the board are just a bonus and display the attention to detail Tom and team have. Looking forward to continually teasing our brain with more Q-less.
